Red Arch is seeking a Software Developer to support NGA.

 

The scope of this effort relates to the development and maintenance of several applications for NGA to include Disclosure and Release Tool (DART), Print-on-Demand (PoD), Intent-to-Publish (NIP), Source Content Management and Services, and Forward Based Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) – Geospatial Services/Computer to Plate (FBG-GS/CTP) Production System.

 

Responsibilities/Job Function:

  • Attend the Production Management Working Group (PMWG) weekly meetings

  • Translate customer needs, as gathered from PMWG or coordinated source production meetings, into technical requirements for review by the Government

  • Collaborate with NGA data stewards, system administrators, and database engineers to identify and assist in the resolution of issues impacting the discovery and delivery of NGA products

  • Generate specialized reports that can be imported/exported to/from relational database tables (or similar relational database)

  • Ensure all required software, hardware, and DTO certification (training) are compliant with Intelligence Community Standard 500 to perform GEOINT product retrieval, review, and dissemination functions

  • Perform market research for industry trends, new developments, and solutions applicable to NGA dissemination and NGA Storage architecture

  • Provide weekly status to management detailing activities and accomplishments.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Mandatory Security Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with CI Poly

  • Demonstrated experience in application design, development, and maintenance using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements

  • Demonstrated experience advising and assisting a design group’s efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization’s online offerings

  • Demonstrated experience using style guides (organization-wide)

  • Demonstrated understanding of Controlled Access Program Coordination Office (CAPCO) Markings and Implementation

  • Demonstrated experience establishing system Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) in a classified environment

  • Demonstrated understanding of multi-tiered systems, logical and physical data modeling concepts, and communication between components

  • Demonstrated experience using Unix/Linux operating systems, Linux shell scripting, SQL, Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage, System and Storage architecture best practices

  • Demonstrated experience tracking and providing metrics on data holdings and quality issues

  • Demonstrated experience with multiple software languages including C#, Java, JavaScript, and Visual Basic

  • Demonstrated experience with ESRI ArcGIS, OpenGeo Server, Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position (e.g. information systems, computer science, math, or engineering) and five (5) years of relevant technical experience

    • An additional four (4) years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must presently be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2 preferred); must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by date of security indoctrination with any necessary continuing education (CE) for certification

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Experience transitioning and maintaining applications in the AWS C2S cloud
