    Red Arch is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support NGA.


    The scope of this contract relates to the management of NGA’s Research Labs across the US.  The effort will provide both system administration for networks, servers, cloud and audio/visual devices and security engineering support services to include architecture documentation and testing.


    Responsibilities/Job Function:

    • Performs systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. System management responsibilities involves account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions

    • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems

    • Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems

    • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.

    • Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems

    • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers

    • Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process

    • Configures and manages Windows operating systems

    • Installs/loads operating system and application software

    • Isolates and resolves hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof

    • Troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

    • Integrates new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems


    • Optimizes systems operation and resource utilization

    • Provides assistance to users in accessing and using systems
    • Continuously monitors all component equipment and takes the appropriate corrective action for restoral to operational readiness

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Mandatory Security Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with CI Poly
    • Demonstrated proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Windows (Server and Workstation) and some or all of the following: Linux (CentOS and Red Hat), Amazon Web Services (AWS), databases (Oracle, MySQL), web services, internet protocols, Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) systems

    • Exceptional computer skills and proficiency on PC platforms

    • Demonstrated experience creating and managing Active Directory and DNS

    • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position (e.g. information systems, computer science, math, or engineering) and eight (8) years of relevant technical experience

      • An additional four (4) years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree
    • Must presently be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2 preferred); must be 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) by date of security indoctrination with any necessary continuing education (CE) for certification 

    Desired Qualifications

    • Previously worked in a Research Lab environment
    • Previously supported NGA IT operations
    • Previously worked in an O&M environment where ITIL best practices were employed
    • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCSE, MCSA, or MCSD)
